A Very Gina Christmas

by gina on December 28, 2009

IMG_3417This was a good Christmas for HCG.  CF and JDF gave me the best gift in the history of the world: Here Comes Gina business cards!  500 of them!  I’ve wanted HCG business cards for quite some time now and not simply because I want to drop them in free lunch drawings at local restaurants (I have business cards for my real job which are good for that).  Believe it or not, people ask me for HCG business cards all the time – I swear.

Many thanks are owed to CF and JDF for this awesome gift.  The business cards are very polished and clean, and they even include my cell phone number on the back (how about that?).
IMG_3435My dad hooked it up this year, too, with a box of my favorite chocolate covered pretzels (some may recall these delicious treats from my bridal shower and wedding.  MR may recall the time we ate so many of the leftovers from HAF’s wedding we almost threw up in MR’s office).
pretzelsMy day after Christmas pilates class was all the more difficult thanks to the 37 pretzels I ate the night before.  My belly says no but my mouth says yes (that should be a song lyric).

The gifts didn’t stop there: CF was really into showing people up this year, and she went all out with personalized koozies!
IMG_3448Chica must’ve found a generous coupon code online for PersonalizationMall.com because both of my parents got koozies as well, and she gave Johnny return address labels (along with a bunch of stuff for his new place that he criticized).  This koozie is significant because my family spends significant time on the beach in Cape May, NJ each summer.  Allegedly, I tend to “freak out” when there aren’t enough koozies to go around, and I get stuck with sand all over my caffeine free Diet Coke.  Problem solved!

There were many more wonderful gifts given and received in the HCG family this year – both CF and Trang got the Hunter Wellies (although Trang’s are on backorder) – and we really couldn’t be happier.

As CF always asks at the Christmas dinner table (jockeying for you to choose her gift): What was your favorite Christmas gift this year?

My favorite gift was my econo-size Proactive repairing lotion & my huge tub of protein cream for my hair. Great hair + clear skin = happy Jenn.

My favorite gift was a dress form from my hubby. It’s adjustable so I can make clothes in different sizes (read: I can still make myself stuff when I get super skinny as a result of my 2010 resolutions). I love it because it’s something I would never buy for myself, but I’ll get tons of use out of. The best part is, now I can make crazy awesome costumes for your sick halloween party!

My favorite gift was a gift certificate to S R Face & Body in Cherry Hill NJ for a makeup artist recommended by none other than our very own HCG!

Hi (= I’m going into the city in a couple of days. My mom said that we could go shopping in soho. Since you were in the city (you blogged about it) recently. Do you have any cute stores that you would recommened? Thanks!

I’m struggling a little with my favorite present this year because I really liked all my gifts from everyone. I think my most awesome would have to be the jewelry tree that JDF got me because he saw a post about it on HCG and the awesome bracelet that accompanied it. Second fave, of course, would be my wellies.

These comments are amazing!

Jenn: Your gifts sound life changing. I am interested in this protein cream for your hair. Please provide additional details.

KB: P. Hitch really delivered this year. The Halloween partygoers should fear the creations you will be able to whip up with your new dress form!

Ski: The gift of Judy is one of the best gifts a woman can receive. I will be making a winter visit soon myself.

Marie: Soho is my favorite NY shopping destination. Whenever I’m in town, I always make a point to hit up Uniqlo (http://www.uniqlo.com/us/store/ny_soho_store.html) and Topshop (http://us.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaticPageDisplay?storeId=13052&catalogId=32051&identifier=tsus1%20stores). The Soho locations of those stores are the only ones in North America, and they’re located right near each other on Broadway. Uniqlo is great for reasonably priced basics and accessories; during my last trip there a few weeks ago, I picked up 10 pairs of tights (at $4.90 each), a few belts and a bunch of clothes – also, one of my favorite flannels is from Uniqlo. In case you haven’t heard of Topshop, it’s uber-trendy – most people consider it a more expensive British version of H&M. Finally, I always get sucked into the Soho F21 and H&M, too – I just can’t help it. Have fun!

CF: I feel happy that HCG made a difference in your Christmas gifts as I know CF + JDF made a difference in mine.

The best gift that I received was from the Colantonios. Soon I will be the proud owner of a custom dress shirt from Barton & Donaldson. I just need to drop a few lb.’s to ensure I look as dapper as possible.
